Focus and Scope of the Journal of Selvicoltura Asean

Journal of Selvicoltura Asean aims to pioneer the advancement of forest science through the integration of innovation, indigenous ecological knowledge, and climate-resilient strategies specific to the tropical forests of Southeast Asia. The journal highlights interdisciplinary approaches that merge ecological integrity, technological advancement, and community participation to address contemporary forest challenges.

We welcome empirical, theoretical, and policy-oriented submissions that address, but are not limited to:

  • Climate-resilient silviculture and ecosystem-based adaptation
  • Community-driven forest governance and indigenous forest management systems
  • Advanced remote sensing, AI, and open-source tools for tropical forest monitoring
  • Ethnoforestry and indigenous ecological knowledge (IEK)
  • Forest-based livelihoods, resilience, and social justice
  • Forest degradation recovery, reforestation, and ecological restoration
  • Urban forestry and green infrastructure in tropical urban environments
  • Policy science, forest economics, and legal frameworks in tropical forestry

Submissions must demonstrate strong relevance to Southeast Asia, with preference given to contributions that address Indonesia’s unique forest challenges and opportunities.
